Full Eternity Ring
If you are looking for a special piece of diamond jewellery or an engagement eternity ring that exemplifies eternal sparkle and beauty for someone in your life who means a lot to you, then you need a diamond eternity ring band. Its endless, eternal loop is a great symbol of love or friendship that will last for ever and is a great way of showing the eternity of your love to that very special someone in your life.
The majority of eternity ring settings are set with diamonds or other gemstones. A full eternity diamond ring has stones set completely around the shank, and a half eternity diamond ring has stones set partially around the shank.
Wearing eternity rings have the advantage that if they turn on the finger you will always see a diamond or sapphire, ruby, emerald or any other type of gemstone facing upwards, and that the turning of the ring helps it to wear more evenly.
Often the stones used in full eternity ring styles are smaller than those used in half eternity rings, because if they are too large the band will become too thick and uncomfortable to wear.
The styles, ranges and eternity ring prices vary, as do settings and stones. Many modern eternity rings are designed in multi-stranded or plaited styles. Traditionally in the UK claw set rings have proved more popular than other, more attractive and practical eternity ring designs.
Although there are many claw set diamond eternity bands, a secure style like a channel or pave diamond eternity band where the gemstones are set into the metal are to be preferred. Another alternative is bezel or rub over settings where the individual diamonds are surrounded by metal. Apart from the security of this setting it can often make the stones appear much bigger than they actually are.
Round brilliant cut diamonds are the most obvious choice for solitaire rings, and square or oblong stones are an excellent choice for a diamond eternity band ring because they can be set edge to edge in a continuous band or line. The recent development of the beautiful “princess" cut diamonds have also added to the attraction of square cut stones for eternity diamond rings.
